Kuoni Group entered India by acquiring a 51% stake in SOTC.
May 1997
Kuoni Group acquired 100% equity in SOTC on May 22nd, 1997. The Company was renamed Kuoni Travel (India) Pvt. Ltd. SOTC World Famous Tours became a prestigious brand of Kuoni India.
March 2000
Kuoni India became India’s largest travel company with the acquisition of Sita World Travel. Sita became another prestigious brand of Kuoni India.
November 2001
Kuoni India consolidated its leadership position in the Destination Management business segment by acquiring Tour Club, India’s No. 1 Destination Manager for visitors from the Middle East.
April 2002
FIT Holidays was launched to market and operate international and domestic holidays for individual travellers.
March 2003
Kuoni India entered the domestic, tourism market with SOTC Holidays of India offering 1001 options for Indian travellers to explore their motherland.

Kuoni Academy was launched with its first centre in Delhi - with contemporary facilities, sophisticated training aids and carefully selected faculty to offer excellence in travel & tourism education and thereby enhance the talent pool of the India travel & toursm industry.

Kuoni, the world’s leading luxury holiday brand, launched in India as the country’s first leisure travel brand focused solely on the luxury segment.
June 2006
Kuoni acquired Distant Frontiers, an FIT & MICE specialist in Destination Management, thereby further strengthening its leadership position in Destination Management.
